PAM
TAFE Outreach programs are closely aligned to the Federal Social Inclusion Agenda ensuring NSW education is accessible to people who face barriers to learning including geographical and social isolation, language and cultural factors, financial hardship, lack of educational confidence, being unaware of opportunities to learn, a disability or family commitments.
Parents As Mentors
UnitingCare Burnside operates a supported playgroup for parents living in Coffs Harbour. Parents who access these services, almost always mothers, are typically young, single, isolated and likely to have mental health issues or to have experienced domestic violence. They are likely to be socio-economically disadvantaged, unemployed and to lack job skills. Attending playgroup not only enhances their parenting skills, it provides a source of social inclusion.
